Article Marketing Techniques That Work
Does article marketing work? It will. In fact, in the last 2 months I’ve personally generated almost a thousand leads from article marketing alone. I’m new to online marketing, too. In fact, I’ve only been marketing my business online for 60 days. Sometimes I see people online who are frustrated with article marketing, and I think that it’s because they don’t understand the basic mechanics of search engine placements. My goal here is simple. I want you to have some immediate ideas that will help you make more money, faster with your article marketing efforts.
First, you want to keep your articles relevant to the reader. What do I mean? Simply put, you need to be a useful resource for helping people solve their most important problems with your articles. Sometimes you see an article that says it’s about one thing, but the information isn’t helpful at all. That’s a BAD idea if you want to build a stable, long term business. It’s important to talk to the problem directly and provide some useful insights for your audience. Relevant, useful information is step one in ranking in the search engines.
The next thing you want to do is make sure that your author information resource is related to the body of your article. What I mean is, don’t have an article about ‘How to Make Pea Soup’ and then have a resource box that says ‘Mr. Awesome makes 10 billion dollars a year teaching people how to be rich online…’ Does that make sense? Make your offer as relevant as possible.
Next, if you want anything at all to rank well in Google, don’t expect it to if it has no other sites linking to that specific page. Over time, you’ll need more and more links coming in to your page to rank well for the same terms. Most people assume that just because something is on EzineArticles or any other article directory that it will rank high… and it won’t. You should bookmark your articles on Digg at the minimum, and I prefer to use a popular social bookmarking service called ‘OnlyWire’. That one concept will make your articles rank better and faster than if you don’t do it.
The last idea I have for you is that you need to create A LOT of original content. Most marketers that I meet simply don’t ever create enough useful information to make a difference for any of their websites. How many articles should you write? As many as you have time to complete. I make sure that personally I create one new article every single day.
My final thought for you is to be optimistic! Once I mastered article marketing, making money on the internet was one of the easiest things I ever did. Keep looking for more article marketing ideas! (After all, I do write one new article per day.)
