How To Reduce The Amount Of Fees When A Car Lease Contract Expires

Car leasing includes a number of conditions which must be adhered to. You must pay the monthly fee and you may have to pay a security deposit to cover any damages to the car. You will also have to stick within a specified mileage allowance and the car must be given back in good condition.

You will have to give the car back to the car leasing company when the contract comes to an end. Once it has been returned the company will carry out a full inspection on the car. If you are to be charged any extra fees, the company will let you know after they have completed the inspection. If you know where you could face extra charges, you can work on keeping these to a minimum.

You should find it relatively easy to prevent being charged for exceeding your mileage allowance. At the start of your contract you would have been given a mileage amount that you would not exceed. The company will require the customer to sign that they are agreeable to this amount and would charge the monthly payments accordingly. You will be charged a fee for every mile that you go over the limit so it is wise to keep an eye on this during the lease agreement.

You should also make sure to return the car in good condition. The company will allow for some wear and tear but if the condition of the car is not up to their standards then they will charge you a fee. You should check with the company at the start of the contract as to what they would consider excessive damage. Getting the company to give you a description of how they expect the car to be returned in writing is a good idea. As long as you treat the car as if it were your own and look after it then you should be able to avoid any extra fees when you return the car.
